Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) Inspection
At Exceltune, we provide roadworthy certificates for all types of vehicles. Located in Sunshine, just minutes from Moonee Ponds, our mechanics are VicRoads licensed vehicle testers with more than 30 years of experience providing car services and car repairs.
What is an RWC?
An RWC is provided to you by a licensed vehicle tester after a roadworthy inspection is conducted. A roadworthy inspection must be carried out whenever a car is bought, sold or re-registered or to clear a police defect.
The roadworthy inspection checklist includes:
- Wheels and tyres
- Steering, suspensions and braking systems
- Seats and seatbelts
- Lights and reflectors
- Windscreen, and windows including front wipers and washers
- Vehicle structure
- Other safety related items on the body, chassis or engine
It’s important to note that the inspection only includes essential vehicle systems and is regarded as a test of vehicle safety. The inspection does not include non-essential systems and components and is no guarantee of vehicle reliability.
If your vehicle passes the inspection, you will be issued with a RWC on the spot. This will be valid for 30 days and must be presented to VicRoads within that time frame.
If the vehicle doesn’t pass the inspection, we will issue a rejection report. You will then have 14 days to repair or replace the rejected item/s and have them re-inspected.
