A client was referred to us by another mechanic in the area as we specialize in Euro cars, many Mechanics and panel beaters in the area send cars they cannot fix or scan to us.
He sent in his MB CLK500 2004 on a tow truck as the car would not start.
The other service had the car for a week, replaced and charged the customer for parts that did not fix the problem, and they still could not work out what was wrong with it.
It took us approximately 1 hour to diagnose the problem, we then repaired it and the ecstatic customer had his beloved CLK500 back the same day.
$2,000 FOR A LOOSE CABLE!?
An Audi A6 2008 came in on a tow truck, diagnosed as being a starter motor, apparently the car had problems starting, so another local Mechanic replaced the battery, but it still had problems starting.
The local Mechanic also diagnosed the starter motor to be the problem and quoted $2000 to replace the starter motor, but after a 15 minute on-the-spot inspection, we found that an earth cable to the battery had come loose.
After tensioning the loose cable and testing the battery and starter motor, the very happy and now loyal customer was on his way (at no charge).

A customer with an X5 2007 just came from a dealer where he was quoted around $8000, to repair his air suspension!
As you could imagine, he was not a happy camper!
He asked us to diagnose and quote the job, because he didn’t trust the BMW dealer.
SOLUTION: our diagnosis found that the suspension needed reprogramming and level calibration at a cost of $440 – again a very happy, now a loyal, on-going customer.

Another mechanic claiming to be a Euro specialist, had just quoted him around $4000 to repair the head on his 2006 BMW 320i. He asked us to give him a comparison quote as well.
We explained to him that we don’t go by other mechanics diagnosis and that we would have to diagnose it ourselves in order to give him an accurate assessment.
We did a number of tests & scans, we diagnosed that the engine had other problems (and that it wasn’t the head at all) Our quote was approx $1000, to repair the problem, needless to say he was a very happy man, so he gave us that job, and is now an on-going loyal customer.
SUGAR DRINKS CAN DO SOME REAL NASTY WORK TO THE ELECTRONICS
We had a customer with an Audi A4 2003, he said that he had the car at a dealer for a few days, and they could not find what was causing the electronics in the car to behave erratic, so he asked us to diagnose and quote the problem.
After extensive tests and inspection, we found that a fizzy cola drink or a sticky substance had spilt on and into the dashboard and was corrupting all the nearby electronics.
After replacing the affected parts and re-testing all was well with car, and the happy customer had his car back on the road the next day.
